The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Central Pennsylvania Chapter has presented PRworks with three awards for campaigns completed in 2019-20.

Three awards - 2020 Keystone Awards

PRworks earned a Keystone Award for a digital communications campaign for Gamut Theatre’s production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, a Silver Keystone Award for a marketing communications campaign for Whitaker Center’s Whitaker Wonderland, and a Silver Keystone Award for a media relations campaign for the launch of Holla Spirits Salvadili vodka.

The awards recognize campaigns that comprised the four-step public relations process (research, planning, implementation and evaluation) and achieved measurable success.

Gamut Theatre Digital Communications Campaign

Gamut Theatre, the combined theatre company of Popcorn Hat Players Children’s Theatre and Harrisburg Shakespeare Company in Harrisburg, PA, partnered with PRworks to adopt a more strategic approach to promote its production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

In collaboration with Gamut Theatre, PRworks developed a promotional strategy involving digital marketing and media relations with the goal of exceeding the number of tickets sold during the prior fall season.

The award judges were impressed that the campaign resulted in record-breaking ticket sales, lauding a “very thorough research plan” and commenting that “clearly, your tactics worked and you achieved your desired results.”

Whitaker Wonderland Marketing Communications Campaign

Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg, PA, houses science education, performing arts and Central Pennsylvania’s largest digital cinema screen all under one roof. Each year, Whitaker Center celebrates the holidays with Whitaker Wonderland, which includes winter-themed exhibits, activities, special events and shows.

Whitaker Center partnered with PRworks to successfully create awareness, promote events and generate ticket sales for the 2019 Whitaker Wonderland season. The campaign was part of a larger effort to promote Whitaker’s attractions and events from fall of 2019 through winter 2020.

Judges praised the “impressive amount of research conducted” to support the strategy and a “nice mix of tactics” to achieve the goals.

Holla Spirits Salvadili Media Relations Campaign

Holla Spirits, a millennial-owned spirits company, partnered with PRworks to conduct a media relations campaign announcing the latest addition to the Holla vodka lineup, Salvadili.

The pickle-flavored vodka was developed in partnership with Epic Pickles, a craft pickle company based in Dallastown, which is just a few miles from Holla Spirits’ hometown of York, PA. The launch celebrated two local companies teaming up together to combine two craft favorites into a unique new product.

Judges appreciate that the “well-executed plan” used “a variety of effective tactics,” and cheered the effort for yielding great placement on local television stations.
